Sustainable Residential Solar Systems Tucson, AZ
Today, Tucson Council Member Kevin Dahl joined Frank Velásquez Jr., Board President of The Drawing Studio, Inc.; Tamora Muir, Tucson Resident and Rooftop Solar Homeowner; Adrian Keller, Arizona Program Director, Solar United Neighbors of Arizona; Robert Neifert, Director of Business Development, Solar Gain Inc. and Co-Chair of the Arizona Solar Energy Industries Association’s (AriSEIA) Public Policy Committee to highlight the incredible opportunities to grow Arizona’s clean energy economy, made possible by the solar grants and incentives included in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). Speakers shared how these investments will cut energy costs for Arizona families, create clean energy jobs, and help grow Arizona’s clean energy economy.
Southern Arizona residents and businesses will benefit from any number of investments outlined in the IRA. These new incentives will help families switch to cheaper, cleaner electricity by offering tax credits cutting 30% off the cost of rooftop solar. Experts estimate that an additional 150,000 Arizona households will install rooftop solar panels specifically because of the investments in the IRA. The IIJA and IRA will also allow for greater adoption of solar by nonprofit organizations, as well as rural and economically disadvantaged populations.

On July 11, 2022, the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) unanimously approved Tucson Electric Power’s (TEP’s) Interconnection Manual. The final manual was written with direct input from the Arizona Solar Energy Industries Association (ARISEIA) and other stakeholders in renewable energy industry to simplify solar installations using the latest technology. The new interconnection manual lays the foundation for increasing amounts of solar and batteries powering and greening TEP’s grid. ARISEIA drafted and submitted multiple letters to the ACC outlining changes and suggesting revision language, much of which was adopted in the final interconnection manual.
Solar Gain is licensed in Arizona and California as an electrical and general engineering contractor. We specialize in developing, designing and building commercial rooftop, canopy and ground mount solar solutions across Arizona and California. Our service department operates, maintains and repairs existing solar systems as well as installs electric vehicle charging equipment.
We offer high-quality solar solutions that offer long-term value to our customers. From evaluation and design to engineering and installation, we have the experience and skills to provide turnkey solutions for any solar project.
The first step in our process involves reviewing your energy use and discussing your personal finance goals. We evaluate your facility or home and the solar exposure to determine the optimum size and type of solar system to fit your needs. Based on this information, we provide an estimate and review financing options that fit your goals.
Once you decide to move forward with a solar photovoltaic system installation, we prepare a comprehensive proposal based on the information gathered during the energy evaluation. The proposal includes the system type, size and location, maintenance and warranty information, and a detailed financial evaluation containing various financing options and information on all available solar incentives and tax credits and rebates. We help you choose the financial option that best suits your needs and prepare the requisite permit requests with the utility company.
This is where we turn your ideas into a photovoltaic system tailored to your specifications. Our engineers design the best system for your home or business based on power usage and your input throughout the process. We make sure to design the exact system you need and want.
Next, our specialists install the solar system in a timely manner. Most residential installations are completed within a week, although some installations may take longer depending on the size of the photovoltaic system.
As much as we love designing and installing the perfect photovoltaic solar system for your home, we think of this as the most exciting step. It is the last barrier between you and clean, sustainable solar energy.
A county or city building official and a representative from the utility company will inspect your system. After it passes inspection, the system is ready for commissioning, the quality-control process that ensures it’s working properly. At this point, we walk you through your new photovoltaic installation and answer any final questions. Now you don’t have to worry; your system is producing energy (and, of course, now you start saving money on electricity).
On the backend, Solar Gain will monitor your solar system to ensure everything is running smoothly. This ensures peak performance, and if an issue arises, we will contact you and take action to remedy the problem. We use multiple different solar power monitoring systems and will teach you to monitor the system yourself, based on the equipment installed at your home or business.
“We have worked with Solar Gain on numerous projects totaling over $1.5 Million. We have used them for our La Quinta Inn & Suites, Comfort Inn & Suites, University Inn, The Alice Hotel, and our private homes as well. They are a great partner because they take the time to help figure out what makes sense from a financial return viewpoint while reaping the benefits of going green. We appreciate Solar Gain taking a practical stance when it comes to sizing our solar systems and not misleading clients when it comes to all the gimmick incentives or complicated finance schemes other solar companies sell you.”

“We interviewed several Solar companies for our project of 1000 plus solar panels. We choose to go with a combination of ground mounted and carport mounted panels, the company we choose for our project was Solar Gain. They were competitive and delivered what they promised. John Reusche was our project manager. John went above and beyond in preparation of our installation. John worked with all the required agencies and kept me informed along the way. Due to San Joaquin County, some of our original designs had to be changed and Solar Gain did not hesitate with making those necessary changes. We thank the entire Solar Gain team, but most notably John Reusche and Roman Black.”

“AGRI- PACKING has installed solar and completed multiple energy efficiency projects with Solar Gain. It has been a pleasure to work with them, and the projects are delivering savings and value as expected. The decision to go solar was made easier because Solar Gain provided a comprehensive design and savings analysis, assisted with financing, and a turnkey installation. The installation process was very smooth: they worked around our business needs and the quality was top notch.”
